Installation
Installation is done in the classic way as for all other addons for Shoptet. Just click on the "Order and Install" button on the addon page https://doplnky.shoptet.cz/miguel-e-knihy. You will then receive an email with instructions for completing the connection.
After the first login you will see an empty order list. Don't worry it will fill up soon. Move to Manage Titles, found in the left panel under settings. Click on the New book button and create your first book.
You can name the book however you want, its name does not have to match the product name in Shoptet. This name will be used as the name of the file that will be delivered to customers.
On the other hand, the product code (book identifier) MUST match the product code in Shoptet and can be found at: Shoptet > products > prices.
In the image shown here, you can see it in the code column:

Creating an e-book or audiobook
If you don't have e-books or audiobooks created yet, you can create them as a separate product or you can use the " Product with variants". You can find it in the "Price list" tab of the specific product.

The process of creating a book is quick and easy. All you have to do is fill in the product code and the title name. Then upload the appropriate format (EPUB).

If you have multiple versions of a book, the system will automatically use the version with the highest number. Over time, it is possible to change the e-books if it is necessary to upload a new version or, for example, to use the principle of pre-sales.
(note: During pre-sales of e-books or audiobooks, only part of the e-book is released at a special price before the official release, e.g. 30% of the book with 30% discount. Then, on the agreed date, you upload the full version over the current version of the file and the customer downloads the e-book again, but in its entirety.)

Audiobooks
Miguel also allows you to send out audiobooks. The zipped mp3s leave from a secure link, so there is no mass
distribution of a public link, which could result in illegal downloads. Split your audiobooks and e-books into two books
in Miguel. This is so that you can pair them with shoptet as two versions of the same book. Each product variant has its
own product number in shoptet (e.g. 146/E-K
and 146/AK
) If you sell both audio and e-books, add a suffix to the
title in Miguel, e.g. "- audiobook" and "- e-book" for easier navigation.
Social DRM settings (for e-books)
In the left column, click Miguel Settings > DRM Template.
To embed social DRM in books, you need to set it up first. Click on **Insert social DRM into books generated from EPUB **, then you will see a short tutorial and a box where you can edit the template. Click Fill in the sample template, which will complete the initial setup of the appearance of the social DRM page in each book. If you know XHTML, you can customize the social DRM to suit your needs.

It is also possible to set up your own SMTP server for sending emails. (Note: The Internet Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is used to transfer emails between computer programs to electronic mail. It uses a direct connection and thus ensures the delivery of mail from the sender to the recipient.) For more information about this, see Usage > Settings > Emails > SMTP.
If you don't want to change the settings, you can keep the default email. The customer will receive an email from Miguel, but if your clients reply, the reply will be delivered to your email address.
Setting up order status
The last step is to set up order statuses It is necessary to specify what order statuses are to be processed and how they are supposed to switch correctly at Shoptet.
You can create custom order statuses in Shoptet. The following picture can serve as a guide.
Explanation of what each box does
Box Processes orders that are in statuses:
In general, Miguel is mainly interested in orders that need to be processed and delivered to the customer - i.e. usually
in Pending and Completed status. However, it is entirely up to you what you name each status in Shoptet. For
example, you can have an E-book or Audiobook status.
Box contains only Miguel books:
If all the items in the order are delivered by Miguel, it takes them to the final status and the order is therefore *
Completed*.
Box contains Miguel books and other products:
Because Miguel can only deliver products stored inside itself, it can only handle a part of an order containing, for
example, an e-book and a printed book. In this case, the e-book is delivered to the customer and the printed book has to
be sent physically. In this case, it is a good idea to set the status to Pending.
Box “contains only other products (no Miguel books):”
You can't ask Miguel to monitor and guarantee products it knows nothing about. Therefore, we recommend to use the Do
not switch setting.
Box under unsuccessful processing contains only Miguel books:
It's a good idea to create an order error alert and create a Miguel ERROR status in Shoptet, which will draw your
attention to the processing of the order.
Box under unsuccessful processing contains Miguel books and other products:
Here, it is a good idea to create an alert for any error in order processing and create a Miguel ERROR status in
Shoptet (you can call it anything), which will draw your attention to the processing of the order even if Miguel has
evaluated the Error only for the products for which it is responsible, i.e. – they are stored inside Miguel.

You’re done and ready to start uploading your next book.
